Patients/clients do not leave their lifestyle habits in the car before they come in and sit in our chair. They bring with them their stressful jobs, poor sleeping patterns (insomnia, apnea, snoring), their physical fitness (or lack of) and their eating patterns (mindless eating and evening feeding frenzies). Participants will hear about the irrefutable scientific evidence showing these habits could ramp up inflammation or dial it down. Well-adjusted, rested, physically active, healthy eating clients enjoy a physiology that supports a better response to prevention/restorative interventions. In this high-energy, instructive session, be prepared to be amazed and entertained!
Learning objectives:
- Discover how eating habits can impact treatment outcomes.
- Learn why it is important to identify the sleep deprived (not just sleep apnea) clients.
- Understand why sedentary clients do not heal as well as physically active clients; 85 per cent lead sedentary lives.
- Gain greater insight into the relationship between chronic inflammation and disease.
- Develop a conversation style to positively impact clients at the new client and recare exam.
